wow… what network setting do you have on the VM? NAT/Host-only/Bridged? You might have a virus or something here. Try this on the VM:
Remove sonarr, remove c:\ProgramData\nzbdrone folder, and then re-install with one or two shows.

its on NAT in the VM.
i remove sonarr using the same way mentioned above everytime. should i upload my entire folder to dropbox for someone to just have a look what the problem might be?
running outpost antivirus now
Let’s see what “outpost” a/v comes back with. I’ve never heard of that particular one but whatever works!
Have you tried disabling UAC as well by chance? Just to see if that does something?
LJ
while outpost is scanning i got a full event log including registry changes sonarr does once i click nzbdrone.exe
outpost just gave some PUA.downloader malware which I already quarantined and deleted.
attached is the pastebin of the file and registry log when i run a completely new installation of sonarr
Nothing in Sonarr uses the registry directly, those are coming from the framework itself, or a library we use, but much more likely that its the framework.
Why did you copy the logs? What exactly did you copy, which files? Sounds like whatever is wrong with your setup on your computer you copied over to the VM, but knowing exactly what you copied would be extremely helpful.
all i copied to the vm was the entire folder of nzbdrone.
So everything, if you delete everything NzbDrone on the VM, and reinstall, does it work?
Then start with config.XML and copy that over. Make sure it still works. Then nzbdrone.db and make sure it works. Those are the only two file that need to be copied over https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/wiki/Backup-and-Restore
If it stops working at any point, let us know.
Sheryar_Siraj,
I recommend a snapshot (if your VM software has that) before installing sonarr on a clean install. Then if it screws up, you have a point-in-time restore w/o having to reinstall windows as well. In addition, snapshot before copying any of the files markus mentioned above – as this will also let you “go back” before something broke.

I moved 7 posts to a new topic: Can’t Open UI on OS X
Exactly what happened with me before it crashed again a week later and doesn’t work again anymore
These are different issues though, his UI starts to load and fails, yours doesn’t, because something else is preventing it based on what we’ve found so far.
Did you get anywhere by doing things one step at a time to restore to settings to the VM?
A post was split to a new topic: Unable to open Web Interface
