Synology Download Station issue

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.4689
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows):5.8.0.108
OS: DSM 6.1.6-15266 Update 1
Debug logs: on going
(Make sure debug logging is enabled in settings and post the full log to hastebin/pastebin/dropbox/google drive or something similar, do not post them directly here. Post in .txt not .doc, .rtf or some other formatted document)
Description of issue:
I’m trying to install Sonarr on my Synology (DSM ), i can’t access to Download Station du to permission issue:
“Failed to get the list of torrents: Failed to login. Reason: Permission denied” & “Unknown exception: Failed to login. Reason: Permission denied”

Ok, so the problem was the double authentification. Any chance to make it work ?

Download is ok but it stop after, if anyone knows ? I’m trying to understand the log, is see the following error message : “Import failed, path does not exist or is not accessible by Sonarr: /volume1/downloads/…”

I have created a dedicated user for Sonarr, with read/write authorization for /volume1/downloads/… & /volume1/series/…

Here is the log

Thanks

Hi, any idea ?

Hi, so i’m the only one using Sonarr on Synology ?

You’re probably not the only one, but the error clearly points to an issue with permissions.
Can you doublecheck permissions on the source and destination directories/files?

Since you made a separate user for sonarr: is it possible the download station runs as another user, and the directories/files it creates are not readable by the sonarr user? I mean the path beyond /volume1/downloads, e.g. in your log the Humans.S03E01.1080p.HDTV.H264-MTB[rarbg] subdirectory…

For sure.

The first screen shot is related to the shared :

The second, to the application :

In both cases, the user Sonarr has access.

I was previously using Sonarr with my Synology NAS, however I used Transmission. At some point, around 2 months ago, I ran into a similar problem. Before that I used to work for like 1,5 years. I was too lazy to figure out what was wrong so I set it up to download on my server and store on NAS, instead of trying to fix the problem.

So unfortunately, no solution.

You mean that you didn’t find one ?

I would check the directories using ssh, and also check out in which group(s) the account is present.
The synology interface is a limited version of the underlying linux permissions, which doesn’t tell the entire story.

I’m not sure how you run sonarr on your syno, but I’m guessing through the synocommunity package? If yes, a change on the synocommunity package has caused many people issues in the (quite recent) past: New sc-download setup can’t access files even with full permissions

That thread has a lot of useful information, but you do need to have some synology and linux knowledge.

who or what is koi?

I don’t know SSH, only what it can do, but i can check the group.

Thanks.

Unfortunately i don’t know linux and i’m brand new on NAS / Synology.

You :grinning:

Sorry, my bad haha. Nope, didn’t find one, could be related to an update, but I didn’t dive into it deep enough.
