Description of issue:

I just did a fresh install, and when I try to add a TV show and ass the path, no matter what I do, after browsing the path and selecting, the root folder selector never fills with what I selected and I invariably get the error that I have chosen an invalid path. Any ideas?

Sonarr needs write access to use it as a Root Folder.

chmod 777 your folders(Abit risky) or add your “sonarr” user which is created on install to your vboxsf(Usergroup) if running on a virtual machine or your root user if running on a normal machine this should give sonarr the permissions needed.
sudo adduser (Username) (Usergroup)

Reboot and it should work, otherwise v3 should also have permission settings through the UI
