Sonarr does not always set category in qBittorrent

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.4949
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit, Creators Update
((Debug logs)): https://pastebin.com/pa77vq2z
Description of issue: Sonarr is not always setting a category for its torrents in qBittorrent and thats keeping Sonarr from wanting to handle those files after download completion. I’m using qBittorrent v3.3.16. This is an intermittent issue. Most of the time, it works just fine. Sometimes it just doesn’t set a Category as I have set (tv-sonarr).

We’ll need to see ((debug logs)) that includes a release Sonarr sent to qbit that doesn’t include the category.

I went and selected five episodes of Criminal Minds to download. Of the 5, the initial episode failed to set category, the other 4 successfully added category.

The debug log of this happening is at https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B05OfZMR_t0dVktSS3ladllHaGc
It was too large to post at hastebin or pastebin.
Specific episode that didn’t have a Category is Criminal.Minds.S11E21.HDTV.x264-FLEET[rarbg]
Here is a picture of qBittorrent: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B05OfZMR_t0dUjg5NDE2YzE2VUE

I don’t see any errors in the logs about that release, I was expecting Sonarr to get a failed response when adding the release and never bothering to set the category.

((Trace logs)) may show more details (including the requests/responses Sonarr sent/received), since there aren’t any errors it appears Qbit sent back successful responses when the release was sent and the label was set, but it didn’t actually apply it.

If that’s the case, hopefully that’s something that qbit is logging, but ((trace logs)) should give a bit more insight into it from the Sonarr side.

I looked at the qBittorrent logs and only thing in there is “9/23/2017 7:14 PM - ‘Criminal.Minds.S11E21.HDTV.x264-FLEET[rartv]’ added to download list.” No other information.

I’ve enabled trace logs but I tried getting this to happen once again and it hasn’t happened yet.

Anyway, this doesn’t seem to be an issue for just me. There are other people over on the qBit Github talking about this too.

Looks like users of other apps are affected as well, so this looks like something that is broken in qbit, though it’s sporadic, which likely makes it harder for them to track down.

Any idea if there’s a possible workaround for this issue?

Like say, can I just set nothing under Category in Sonarr for qBit?

Category is optional, but no quality limits Sonarr’s ability to filter out torrents that it doesn’t need to process.

Description of issue:

So most of the time, the category is not being applied in Qbittorrent v3.3.12, although it looks like Sonarr is setting the correct category and sending it to Qbit:

This of course, prevents Sonarr from managing the completed downloads properly. If I manually set the category in the Qbit interface to “tv-sonarr”, it properly manages the downloads. This example was added via automatic search in Sonarr.

I looked at the Qbit logs, but it didn’t have a lot of info - is there a way to make the Qbit log more “verbose”?:

(N) 2017-09-28T12:49:28 - ‘Suits.S02E02.720p.BluRay.X264-REWARD’ added to download list.

Maybe an updated version of Qbit would handle this better??

Just wanted to say that instead of using direct qBittorrent integration, I have just went with torrent Blackhole option with qBittorrent and now this is no longer an issue for me. qBittorrent works great with the blackhole, so might as well use it.
