Hello,
I was downloading Pokemon and after a while i found out that NZBDrone didn’t find the correct episodes. After some research it turns out that the episode guide on NZBDrone isn’t correct. Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks
Drone doesn’t have an episode guide, it gets its info off of Trakt (which gets it from TVDB).
Also, chances are that TVDB and Trakt both show Japanese info as it’s a Japanese show. My guess is that the info is correct, but just not what you want it to be. The people at TVDB generally aren’t happy if users with different interpretations just go about changing stuff without talking it through first. If you do want to change something big, ask around on their forums first.
Tommy, were you ever able to resolve this? I have just discovered the issue myself, and found this thread with a google search.
My post still stands. What’s actually wrong with it? I’m pretty sure the episodes are correct for the Japanese air order and that’s how it’s supposed to be on TVDB.
NMe, the problem is that people are most likely not downloading the japanese episodes, but the english ones (that’s the case for me). So if I see in Sonarr that I am missing S16E28, that is in fact S18E28 on usenet. When downloading the english episodes, I can’t really use the japanese episode listings / names for much, as they do not match at all.
thetvdb does not seem to have the english listings (from cartoon network), but tvrage does.
This means that there is currently no possible way to automate english pokemon episodes. I have to grab them manually, and then rename them to match the japanese episode guide. That’s quite a lot of manual work for nearly 900 episodes!
I have this problem also with Pokemon and a couple other shows as well. I understand what NMe said, and I would respond by asking…
Can we add a feature that would allow us to specify/utilize one of two things…(1) the country to use primarily where possible (i.e. USA/Cartoon Network rather than Japan/TVTokyo) or (2) allow us to manually select or force the same somehow locally in our own install??
Basically rather than telling us how stubborn TVDB is, help us automate this show for english/USA please and thanks.
Doug
No it is not possible to implement such a feature at this time.
First: The Japanese were here first. You wouldn’t want tvdb to renumber The Walking Dead if it happened to be syndicated/broadcast somewhere else. TDB is rightfully sticking with the Japanese original, don’t think you can call that stubborn.
For Sonarr there is only one listing, the one supplied by tvdb, so the US listing is not available. I don’t see that change within the foreseeable future. This means that the calendar will not show the expected air dates for US either.
For TheXEM the same holds true: The Japanese version was first, you can’t expect TheXEM to replace those mappings with US ones.
TheXEM does not support multiple ‘scene’ mappings. TheXEM v2 may support it, but that’s only in the concept phase so won’t be a reality anytime soon.
Probably not the answer you wanted to hear, but that’s basically it, you’re stuck with downloading it manually.
Also: how would you even distinguish between Japanese and English while just looking at file names? Sure, you could look at the release name and if that follows the scene naming scheme it would imply scene numbering, but at the same time there are trackers like BTN which use scene naming schemes for season packs of any origin. Even with support for multiple numbering schemes you’d be depending on some very dodgy criteria. It would be better to not automate stuff like this at all so that you know what you’re actually downloading, rather than hoping that some unreliable automated magic happens to work for you.
Actually, I wanted to do with thexem v2 what I do with the extrapolation logic. Throw a warn and block import when there is any doubt.
Severely offtopic here, but personally I’d say that’s a downgrade from current functionality. That would mean that shows like Pokémon but also Star Wars Rebels or Mythbusters would never be able to be imported automatically anymore (unless there is very extensive release group-level mapping) even though all three of those shows can easily be set up to work automatically with very minimal effort. Would need a lot of thought.
Nono, I really mean “When there is doubt”, such as in your season pack case perhaps, but not with individual releases. However, the files in the season pack will still be named properly, so even that might not be a problem.
However, I wanted thexem v2 to be capable to flag a certain release as ‘blocked/unverified’. But it won’t be standard practice.
