Windows 10 NAS drives disappeared

2.0.0.5169 - Apr 1 2018):
Windows 10 Pro Build1803:
Multiple root folders are missing: Y:\TV Shows | Z:*\TVShows | Z:**\TVShows\TVShows

I have been using Sonarr for about 2 years now, no issues at all. When I opened it up last night, I got the above error message, that I can’t connect to my NAS drives. My shows are still listed in the series page, but I can not seem to get Sonarr to see the drives anymore. No settings have been changed, the drives are still showing up in windows, and on my other network devices.

When I go into Series - +Add series - Import existing series on disk - I still see 1 of the NAS drives listed, but it will not connect. |Y:\TV Shows|0 B|

I have read the FAQ - https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/wiki/FAQ#why-cant-sonarr-see-my-files-on-a-remote-server. But not sure how that applies since it has been working for the last 2 years. Plus the link in the FAQ on How to change a service’s user account is dead.

I have tried adding NzbDrone.exe to the start folder, and running it as an administrator, still no luck.

As far as - Change your paths to UNC paths (\server\share) Im not sure what this actually means. I would assume they are correct since I was able to connect to them via Sonarr yesterday. Each share has full access, read and write for all users.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. And if you could send an updated link for the FAQ on how to change a services user account would be great. (I did a google search, but everything I found was about setting up a new user account)

Sometimes it works, but has never been supported by Microsoft and eventually fails randomly. I’ve updated the steps on how to change it,

Thank you for the update, and the response.

I went to the FAQ and followed the steps. I was able to get to step c. Stop the NzbDrone service, but I am not seeing that listed. I have attached a txt file of a list of running services. Screenshot (1)

I am able to see the NzbDrone.exe (32 bit) running in the task manager, but not in the services screen.

Is the NzbDrone service even installed?
What do you see in Task Manager for NzbDrone?
Do you have a tray icon for Sonarr?

A screen shot would have been a lot clearer…

I believe it is, I have been using the program for a few years now.
In the Task Manager I see NzBDrone.exe (32 bit)

I do have a tray icon. Included a screen shot of the icon, the task manager and the services.

Then Sonarr is not running as a Windows Service (and the service is not installed).

Are you able to connect to Y:\ through Windows Explorer from that system?
Since you’re not running Sonarr as a service there should be no reason why Sonarr can’t access the mapped network drive, as long as it’s functioning properly (and accessible though Windows Explorer from the same system).

Yes I’m able to access both of my NAS drives via Windows on the server and on my other networked devices. I was able to via Sonarr up until just a few days ago.

I included a screen shot of a show in Sonarr that I added from a NAS drive and the open file explorer with the same show opened.

Windows Explorer is showing breadcrumbs, not the actual path, so I can’t tell if it’s the same as the path in Sonarr for that series or something else. Can you show the complete path?

If you Refresh the series what do the debug logs show?

Not sure what you mean by breadcrumbs. This is the complete path. “Z:\NAS Kodi\TVShows\13 Reasons Why” Shift + Right clicked on the folder and selected copy as path.

This is all the debug log says when I refresh the above show - Series’ root folder (Z:\NAS Kodi\TVShows) doesn’t exist.

So I believe I have figured it out. I was trying to think if I made any changes to windows since this all started, and the only thing I could think of was the user account control (UAC). I may have changed it to never notify me. I changed it back to the default setting and rebooted windows.

I am able to see both my NAS drives in Sonarr again.

I meant the circled part.

Sounds like you got it figured out, I never would have thought a UAC change would lead to lose of network drives.
