What Process is Determing Blacklisted releases

I am curious the last couple weeks several episodes each day are not grabbed and download and when i perform a manual search all the releases from all the indexers have that little red ! sign and say blacklisted however if i force a download anyways it downloads the file just fine so i am wondering how nzbdrone is deciding which releases are blacklisted and why cause it is preventing some still complete episodes from being grabbed and sent to be downloaded here is an example this is a screenshot of an episode of Vikings out today

It was not grabbed at all and i have left it for several hours after the normal time they start downloading and still nothing so i performed a manual search and clicked a random one as they all said blacklist (I selected the third one down the 720p from REMARKABLE from Nzbs.org) and it grabbed it sent it to NzbGet (i am currently testing but same issue in Sabnzbd) and it began to download and completed just fine

here is screen showing NZBGet downloading just fine

The release failed in SAB (the reason is irrelevant), usually when it fails and then succeeds later its due to propagation issues from the posting server.

More info on failed downloading is on the wiki: https://github.com/NzbDrone/NzbDrone/wiki/Failed-Download-Handling

Ok so if i am understanding correctly how it works is if for some reason it detects these episodes as blacklisted or failed when it checks at some point during the day it does not mean they won’t download it just may take a couple more hours or a day or so to propagate or spread to the usenet server that i am using in this case happens to be NewsgroupDirect (got cheap blocks on sale) once NzbDrone detects it as complete on my Usenet service it will then grab and download as normal

Is this basically what you are saying?

Also as i am currently testing out NZBGet for about a week or so does ND have the ability to check it like it does with Sabnzbd or have you simply designed it to focus on Sabnzbd as it is the primary downloader for people using ND

No, once its blacklisted its blacklisted. I’m saying its likely blacklisted because of propagation issues. Drone doesn’t actually talk to any usenet service.

Right now failed downloading only works with SAB.

ok thanks for clearing that up i will just check the calendar when i get the chance each day and if any missing will perform a manual search in most cases this seems to work just fine

Is it posible to turn of the blacklisting? Since a lot of shows don’t download.

there is a section called failed download handling but the option suggests it processes downloads that have failed and blacklists them based off that however i am assume you are like me and episodes aren’t even downloading for the first time as they are getting blacklisted before you even have a chance to grab them and try and download

however you can manually search and grab them which is good but not really fitting to the whole automated ideal of NZBDrone if you have to keep checking to see if anything is missing and when is having to manually perform a search on them

Correct… They don’t even download the first time.

Propagation issues are pretty bad some nights, lots of information here: http://forums.nzbdrone.com/discussion/1169/astraweb-propagation-issue-possible-to-delay-sending-of-nzb-to-download-client#Item_9
