I am finding all sorts of information about sonarr features, how to install, how to integrate, etc.
But I am not finding anything to tell me what sonarr basically is.
I use plex, and roku.
I don’t know if the type of software would have a name specifically. But what it does is consolidate one or more sources of mediafiles/tv series episodes, integrate with one or more download clients in order to retrieve said episode files, import desired files from the download location upon completion to where your media manager (plex in your case, and mine) reads them for viewing by the end user. It has a number of features beyond that but that’s at the heart of what Sonarr does, and thus from a ‘philosophical’ standpoint what it is, too
