VirusTotal flagging Sonarr for macOS Intel flagged as malicious

Sonarr version (exact version): 4.0.16.2944.osx-x64-app
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows):
OS: macOS High Sierra 10.13.6

Description of issue: Prior to installing Sonarr (Sonarr.main.4.0.16.2944.osx-x64-app.zip) on my Mac Mini, I scanned it using VirusTotal, which flagged it as malicious as seen at VirusTotal.

In particular the Google (Detected) and Ikarus (Trojan-Downloader.MSIL.Agent) engines flagged it.

For whatever it’s worth, Radarr was also flagged: VirusTotal.

Can anything be done to address this? Can anyone comment on the real risk level here? Appreciate any and all assistance with this unexpected curveball. Thanks.

We’re confident that this is a false positive, but thanks for letting us know.

I’ve reported this as a false positive to both Google and Ikarus for review. The arm64 version (for M series macs) was not detected by either, but is detected by another vendor, so I’ve submitted that as well.

Looks like they’ve both addressed it already, as reanalyzing shows them no longer detecting.
