Running Sonarr 3.0.6.1196 keeps grabbing shows not monitored. It was also doing this with version 2 before upgrading, so for a while this has been happening. Finally trying to figure out why?
Specifically for NCIS S17E17
it’s skipping the monitored check because it’s a search:
21-6-2 15:44:07.9|Debug|MonitoredEpisodeSpecification|Skipping monitored check during search
I don’t see where American.Idol.S17E04.Auditions.4.1080p.NF.WEB-DL.DD+5.1.x264-AJP69 English
is processed before it’s added though.
The second trace log (sonar.trace1.txt ) should have many more shows not monitored it grabbed. This seems to occur when adding a new series/show or when downloads are incomplete and it starts searching again.
Instead of grabbing that show, it starts to grab the unmonitored shows instead.
So how do I fix this?
Thanks!
These are the 3 grab events:

The only one that wasn’t in the first file was SEAL Team, again the log of it being processed isn’t there, but I’m not seeing a bunch of unmonitored things being grabbed.
Are they showing up in Sonarr’s history?
Is something else grabbing them?
Something else grabbing them is the #1 reason we’ve seen when “Sonarr” is grabbing things it shouldn’t be, if they aren’t showing up in Sonarr’s history as grabbed then it’s almost certainly not grabbing them and we’re not aware of any known issues of the sort.
Yes, they show up in the history as grabbed by sonarr.
Anyway to export history to a file for you?
Screenshot would be the easiest way.
Here the history screenshots.
Just to clarify. I do monitor these shows, but not the seasons these episodes are in.
a screenshot of the actual episode history would probably be better as it will show the entire history of that episode. presumably at some point sonarr initially grabbed it but youre saying its doing it multiple times, so there should be multiple grabs in the episode history.
eg; open the series, open the season, click on the episodes title, click on the history tab
you can also mouse over the info icon of each entry to see its specifics
Here’s the history of SEAL.Team.S03E14, that you said wasn’t processed. Thought might help.
Thanks!
odd, theres an entry for Bull S03E17 in its history? you may want to check the history of bull s03e17
this entry seems to indicate it was initially kicked off via a manual search, not an rss feed find. i could be wrong though.

perhaps you did a manual search for bull and that actually had the seal team episode in it. when it failed sonarr looked for a replacement (as it was a manual search). that replacement download also failed and it did another search which also failed. presumably it stopped at that point as there was nothing else valid to grab?
can you mouse over the info icons for the two black coloured grabs to show what was grabbed? the timestamps would be helpful as we can match them up to your logs. although you would need to upload logs for those times (if you still have them).
the bull search, grab, and failure, occurred outside the currently uploaded logs, as did prety much everything else, so theres nothing to tell us what actually happened.
the only thing we do have in the available logs is that it grabbed the first replacement (which isnt really that helpful)

Here’s 4 days of info logs. 21-6-4 was a bunch downloading non-monitored. I did notice some errors on that day listed.
Thanks!
the log level is set to info, it needs to be debug to show the rss feed processing (which is where it should presumably be screwing up).
the logs are also past the date/time for the bull/seal team issue. searching them for another unknown issue is practically impossible.
basically you are better off leaving the logging at debug, and waiting for the issue to happen - then post the logs around the time the issue happened.
Here’s debug log from today. I added new series Chicago PD Season 8 and let it do it’s thing.
21-6-10 13:45.56.0 Starts downloading unmonitored shows at this point.
All I did was add series to Sonarr. I did nothing else. Hope this helps. Thanks!
It would appear sonarr is doing EXACTLY what you’re telling it to do, you told it to search for those episodes and it is searching for those episodes and now it’s finding episodes.

Monitored is not a factor for a search
what exactly do you mean by this? what options did you select when you added it?
just that while you can add a series, you cannot add only a specific season of a series.
you can kick off a manual search for that season though - but thats a manual search (which will ignore monitored status)
So what triggered that search, I didn’t do any search for it?
Thanks for assist. I just deal with it. All good!
Either you triggered the search or another app triggered a search
searches do not triggers themselves
charmed was for season 1, so i presume you just added the series?
as per my previous post - what options do you select when you add series? ticking either of the boxes will result in a search being started
you also have two failures which kicked off a search for replacements

there appeared to be at least four failed jobs though

the rss feed checks found no matches - ie sonarr did not automatically download anything itself. if you search for release rejected
you will see that it did find several matches to series and episodes you still want but they did not meet the criteria to download.

these appear to indicate you clicked on a manual search for these episodes. if you didnt then the only other thing i can think of is that they failed to download and these are replacements (the actual failure and/or replacement entries for them may be in older logs)

so far theres nothing to show anything out of the normal is happening
No, I didn’t add that series.
I check search for missing and selected current season, before selecting add Chicago PD. Which started the search for Season 8 Chicago PD.
No, I didn’t do a manual search on these. Makes sense now. 4 failures and 4 odd searches.
Thanks for the assist.
