Unable to parse (File extension looks to be doubled)

Hi Guys/Girls,

I know I’m a bit late on the bandwagon, however I’m finally trying to correct my MythBusters naming after the season title change from SxxExx to SyyyyExx, however I’m having real difficulty getting the episodes to re-scan in.
I’ve confirmed permissions on all directories and files, even su’d to Sonarr’s user and manually playing a file with ffmpeg.

The log data I’m getting is as follows:

15-12-26 23:25:48.6|Debug|Parser|Parsing string 'MythBusters - President's Challenge.mkv'
15-12-26 23:25:48.6|Debug|Parser|Unable to parse MythBusters - President's Challenge.mkv
15-12-26 23:25:48.6|Debug|Parser|Parsing string 'Season 2010 MythBusters - President's Challenge.mkv.mkv'
15-12-26 23:25:48.6|Debug|NzbDrone.Core.Parser.QualityParser|Trying to parse quality for Season 2010 MythBusters - President's Challenge.mkv.mkv

This happens regardless of what naming conventions I try. I’ve attempted so far:

The original "MythBusters - SxxExx - The episode title.ext"
Removed numbering "MythBusters - The episode title.ext"
Removed all prefix "The episode title.ext"

It kind of looks like it’s duplicating the file extension, then removing a single one of them (As seen from bottom to top on log line 2 and up.)

Can anybody shed some light onto what’s going on here, and how I might get my episodes imported?

Sonarr relies on the season and episode numbering to determine what the episode is, impossible to say why it failed to parse properly with the season and episode in the file name, not sure where the 2nd extension is coming from (could be in the filename if “Show Extensions” isn’t enabled in Windows Explorer (assuming Windows).

Hi Markus,

Running on Debian, not windows. No dual file extensions are present.
Does sonarr realy require season and episode designations in the filename (As opposed to the path) in order to be able to find episodes? I could swear that in the past it’s picked up some of my (more poorly named) series from the title in the filename.

Cheers,

Haioken

The episode number is 100% required (except in some cases for specials), the season number should also be there, but in some cases can be fulled from the folder name.
