I wanted to switch from oznzb.com to nzb.is as an indexer because oznzb.com is down for maintenance since a few days.
Every configuration I tried with nzb.is does not work.
I used https://nzb.is/
or https://nzb.is/api
as urls, and Sonarr can download the list of nzbs fine.
But as soon as I try to download a nzb, the downloaded file is called .nzb, but in reality is a html file containing input fields for username/password.
What can I do to correct this?
By the way: I searched within Sonarr to find which URL it effectively calls, but I could not find a suitable log.
Is there any option in the GUI to show the log? Or is there any location I can find it in the filesystem?
I just tested this site with Sonarr and it worked just fine. I think you have a settings issue.
Go into Setting and then Indexers, Click on + then click on Newzanb. For Name: enter something like nzb.is. Of course for URL you want https://nzb.is/. Now you need your API key. This key you get from the NZB site, in this case from from http://nzb.is/ You did create a Profile on the site right? Then you want to log into the site. Then up top, click on Profile. This will bring up a window to view your user profile. If you look down, you’ll see Site Api/Rss Key: then a long number. Cut and paste this API into the Sonarr API setting.
Catagory you normally shouldn’t have to screw with, should show 5030,5040. Enable RSS Sync and Enable Search should also be ON by default. Click on Test and it till test and show a small windows down before that it either failed or it succeed.
This is now you do the settings for any NZB site that is not already listed in Sonarr. They are work pretty much the same. I actually have 10 of them working right now. Some free, others cost a little money per year. You do NOT put the API of SAB or GetNZB or whatever else into this API setting!!!
This sounds like what you are doing wrong. I just tried and it worked perfect for me.
They have a thread on their forums with tons of people reporting issues, but they may be intermittent the issue seems to be the API key is sporadically missing from the download links. I highly doubt that this is a case of not knowing how to use it since they had oznzb working up until their maintenance, the site is or at least was having issues.
Strange, but one of the reasons why I have about 10 indexers. They tend to disappear or have some issue, and I have others to fall back onto. Also better search results overall. If one of them is causing issues, I’ll disable it for a while. Not a big deal to do. But this one did seem to work for me when I tried it. You are right it seems a number of people have been having issues. Sounds like it’s them and not Sonarr. Especially when other sites work just fine. Another reason to not rely on just 1 or 2 NZB indexers.
