Ubuntu Install - "Folder Is Not Writable By Root"

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.5344
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): 4.6.2
OS: Ubuntu 18 LTS
Debug logs: Log simply says *"Invalid request Validation failed: *

  • – Folder is not writable by user root"*
    Description of issue: Sonarr presents the following message when trying to select a folder to install TV Shows. “FOLDER IS NOT WRITABLE BY ROOT”

This seems to be a permissions issue but I am not an Linux expert. Can someone help explain how to resolve this? I am thinking maybe Sonarr was installed under the wrong user somehow (Root?).

Never mind - instead of installing it using the package installer I removed and reinstalled manually from the terminal and it didn’t install as root - so no problem.
