I want to change the time zone of the Calendar. I did a search for this and found a few threads (and now closed) but none really solved the issue. My computer (Mac) and browser (Safari) are set to the correct time and timezones. However the shows I have in Sonnar are showing on EST not PST as I want them to be. Is there anyway to change this? Once I export it to ical for Google the times are off too.
All dates and times in the calendar are transmitted in UTC to the browser, which converts it to the appropriate local timezone of the browser.
The only reason dates/times could be off is if the source metadata is incorrect, so please give us a specific example (series name, release, date, etc).
So for example, Blue Bloods on CBS is on Friday Nights at 10pm/9c - I am in PST so I would expect the calendar to show me that time (10pm), however its showing 7pm PST which is 10pm EST. All my shows are showing EST, I want them to show in my time zone.
10pm/9c means it airs at 10pm EST which is 7pm PST.
The fact that the same show is broadcast tape-delayed on other timezones is irrelevant from Sonarr’s perspective. Scene doesn’t care that broadcasters tape-delay the broadcast by 3h for pacific, or separately for mountain time too.
Stuff gets snatched by scene based on EST, and uploaded as such.
Please note that Sonarr isn’t a tvguide, so it’s only interested in when a specific episode is first broadcast, globally.
Taloth, Thank you for your response. It is very concise and makes complete sense. Hopefully your answer helps anyone else that has this same question, and quite possibly adding it to the wiki maybe a good idea too.
For myself personally I would like to have the ability to change the timezone and use it as a pseudo TV Guide within Google calendar via iCal so I don’t have to use multiple services. However I understand your position on this.
