Hi All,

I’ve been having a hell of a time trying to get the indexers working.
Been all over the web reading this and that, watching videos.

I have forever been manually downloading torrents from the now defunct BT-Junkie, KAT and have now shifted to ExtraTorrent as even though the site is horrid it does display the recent stuff well enough. (I was never really a fan of TPB). But my life has become evermore increasingly busy and I just don’t have the time or patience to hunt for torrent files anymore. Hence turning to Sonarr.

I have managed to get ExtraTorrent added and it tests successfully however when search automatically nothing happens and when I searched manually the other day it would come up with a bunch of torrents but not always from the show I was looking for which perplexed me a bit. When I clicked on the download icon of a show I did want to download if I was lucky enough for it to show up it just came up “Invalid torrent file specified”. Now nothing comes up at all when I try a manual search.

I have ExtraTorrent setup with:
Name: ExtraTorrent TV
Enable RSS Sync: Yes
Enable Search: Yes
URL: http://extratorrent.cc/rss.xml?type=popular&cid=8
API Key: Blank
Categories: 5030,5040

I also have Wombles added but this doesn’t allow search as I’m sure you are already aware.

I have heard people mentioning Jackett-Public.
Is this where I need to be headed?

Is there a list of torrent indexers and their required settings somewhere?
Any advice/guidance would be much appreciated.

It sounds like you either added ExtraTorrent as a Newznab or a Torznab indexer, but neither of those would work for it since it doesn’t support the Torznab API and Newznab is for usenet indexers. You’d want to add it as a Torrent RSS indexer in Sonarr, which does not support searching.

It only provides recent feeds (RSS), but it’s not a torrent indexer either, it’s for usenet.

Maybe? Jackett (and Jackett Public) add support for indexers that Sonarr doesn’t support since they don’t have an API or even a basic RSS feed, they may not support Extra Torrent though.

The indexer’s Sonarr supports are listed when you add a new indexer, plus what ever Jacket/Jackett Public support through it (setup as a Torznab indexer in Sonarr).
