"The Application "Sonarr" can't be opened." (I've read other threads)

Hi guys,

Hoping someone may be able to assist here, I’ve had a read through every similar thread I can find but haven’t been able to find a resolution.

Basically as others have found, last night I updated from El Capitan 10.11.0 to 10.11.1 and now Sonarr won’t open.

I installed via the application, not with homebrew. I’ve looked at the logs and all I can find is the last thing before death that Sonarr did was update itself. I’ve tried deleting the .conf folder to no avail. Unlike the other threads, I get no prompt about mono, I can’t get into the UI at all.

Kinda stumped here. Hopefully someone managed to get past this and can spread some wisdom

I am also having the exact same issue. Mine was working fine with El Capitan 10.11.1. My issue started after the last update for Sonarr was pushed out. I forced the update before I went to bed last night and now nothing. So frustrating.

Glad to hear I’m not just going crazy here. If you find out a fix outside of this thread, please post it or message me!

Oh absolutely I will. Please do the same. I’m actively looking. Hoping to get this fixed asap!

Within the .conf folder theres a backup folder. I grabbed that an unzipped it, it’s a unix file. Wondering if we can download the previous version of Sonarr then drop that .db file into it? Reckon that would work?

Wow, that’s an excellent idea. You think it will work?

sorry i’m stuck at work and unable to try anything until I get home. Still looking for a fix on the web though. .

any luck on your end? I am thinking of doing a clean install of it when i get home.

Anything in the log files?

Won’t be able to do much till tonight as I’m working today but here are my logs, though they don’t seem anywhere near as informative as yours?

Had any luck yet?

Fixed!
So what I did was make a copy of the NZBdrone folder, then I found my original sonarr installer, unzipped it, copied it back into my applications folder (replacing the old app), deleted the nzbdrone folder, I then restarted my computer, launched sonarr once, killed it when into the conf folder, copied the config.xml and the .db file into it (from the original drone folder i copied at the beginning, replacing both) then restarted. Now im back to exactly where I was the other day

On OS X, this worked for me…
