Currently, when trying to choose a tag to apply to a show, it actually gives me the option to select anything I’ve ever typed in before. Maybe this is a browser caching thing, not a Sonarr bit, but it is confusing and annoying. At the very least this option could be changed to a drop-down list of the current tags that exist.
That list currently doesn’t really match what I have setup
It autocompletes on ones that you’ve previously created and allows you to create new ones. We have no plans to change the implementation, but do plan to make managing tags better (allowing you to delete previously created, now unused ones).
Would one of those plans to improve tag management include adding them into the Series Editor?
Maybe being able to apply tags to the Profiles would be useful. Currently when I decided to change all of my non-anime series to the x265 tag, I had to open the settings for each and every series and type in the tag name. Whereas if I could have just applied the tag to my profile that all of my newer series use then it would have been done in a single move!
I understand that this sort of limits the current way tags are used without creating duplicate profiles, since currently any combination of tags can be applied to any series. But I think this would simplify things in a good way.
Either series editor or a similar tag specific page, since tags a bit more flexible. You may want to set all selected series to use the specific tags or instead add those tags to the existing list of tags.
Series will continue to be the central point for them, since a series needs to be linked to a profile we won’t add them to profiles, but definitely want to make it easier to set them on multiple series.

We need Tags available when adding a new series as well. Otherwise, allowing Profiles to have Tags would still be a quick and easy step when adding a new series.
