Synced/Followed Trash Guides and cannot seem to download most shows

Sonarr version (exact version): 4.0.4.1491
OS: Unraid Docker
Description of issue: Synced my sonarr anime instance with Trash’s Guide and cannot seem to download anything and I’m unsure as to why?

It seems that when searching for newer shows it can find something but not for every episode. “A Sign of Affection” a relatively new show that just finished airing, it could only find about 3/12 episodes. For a show that finished airing a couple of years ago, it couldn’t find anything when doing a quick search or interactive search. I have Prowlarr setup with Nyaa and Shana Project as well as a bunch of other indexers for anime but I just cannot get it working.

Of those two indexers, only Nyaa appears to have releases for A Sign of Affection, and they’re using standard SxxExx numbering, rather than absolute numbering.

Searching using either standard or absolute numbering returns plenty of results though, including season packs, both for the English name and the Japanese name Yubisaki to Renren.

I’ve played about with Nyaa’s indexer settings to see if something was causing an issue, but I still get plenty of results.

Provide screenshots of the indexer settings for Nyaa in Prowlarr and Sonarr, and provide debug Prowlarr and Sonarr logs for a manual search for a single episode of A Sign of Affection in Sonarr (just make sure there isn’t an RSS sync happening at the same time).

Here is the screenshots and log for Prowlarr:

Here’s episode one’s result for manual searching

So it’s finding results then. What are the reasons given for rejecting them (hover over the red-circled exclamation mark)?

This is what it says:

Sonarr > Settings > Profiles > click the profile you’re using > change the Minimum Custom Format Score and/or the scores you’re applying to the Custom Formats.

How low of a score would I need to change it to?

I’ve synced Trash Guides’s custom scores using recyclarr and it all looks right?

That really isn’t necessary. I have a couple of Release Profiles to reject HDR and x265 results, and a couple of Custom Formats for preferred and unwanted words (e.g. some release groups and sources) but that’s it.

Some people will want to be more granular than that, but you don’t need all of Trash Guides’ Custom Formats, especially if you don’t understand them.

What do you even have configured that would be required to meet the minimum score of 100?

I’m wondering if this has to do with the docker container that I’m using. I’m using binhex’s sonarr container through the Unraid community apps. Is it worth trying other containers to see if that fixes the issue?

No. Sonarr is sonarr, just in a different container. You’ll still have the same misconfiguration issue if you use the same settings in sonarr.
