So i just did a change from sickrage to sonarr like the title says. I have to say it was a very easy switch and i really love sonarr. Hell of a job making this product guys.
In the last few weeks sickrage basically broke for me and as i was fighting with my setup to fix it my install of it was pretty much destroyed. So i went online to find some help and ran into all the infighting of the development team. Due to the devs locking things down and changing things i would have had no choice but to re-setup the whole thing and not really know if it would be working when i was done.
I did a quick search to see what else was out there and ran into sonarr. After reading up on it for a bit and seeing some screenshots i decided to kill the remaining bits of sickrage and install sonarr. It was so easy to install and configure i thought i was missing something. I am not use to these systems being so user friendly.
It took about 2 hours to setup, configure and add my entire media library. Sonarr started scanning and fixing stuff that i didn’t even know was wrong. I was missing about 257 episodes of tv shows that i didn’t even know i was missing. Sonarr was ready and started collecting them and telling sabnzbd to download them all. 10 hours later my library was perfect and not missing anything.
my setup
Plex media server
sabnzbd - newsgroup downloader
couchpotato - for movies
sonarr - for tv shows
giganews for newsgroup service
notify my android - phone notifications of episode downloads
17TB of storage - 2400+ movies and 18000+ tv episodes.
In the end i have to say sonarr was a great addition to my system and if anyone is looking to replace sickrage or another software i would highly recommend sonarr. Its running great and it looks killer to boot.
