Suggestion: possible better file re-naming

I love the anime support here! One thing I’ve noticed is that when an anime file has brackets at the beginning, like [Commie], the renaming fails. It’s not a huge deal to rename, but we’re after automation, right?

Maybe if NZBDrone’s renaming feature knows to ignore brackets in titles, it would have a higher success rate. What do you think?

Do you have a concrete example? Brackets aren’t explicitly ignored, but when the files are being parsed as long as they match a common pattern it has no issues.

If you have non-standard conventions then thats another issue entirely, which we’ll have to discuss on a case-by-case basis.

Hi, it was presumptuous of me to jump to that conclusion! In the future, I’ll post examples. This time it was:

[BakedFish] Sword Art Online II - 04 [720p][AAC].mkv

“Sword Art Online”, as downloaded by Sonarr, was unplayable by my Popcorn Hour A300, as were all versions listed in “manual search”. So I manually found these on bittorrent, converted them from mp4 to mkv, and put them into the sonarr-created directory. I click the button to rescan the folder, then I clicked the “rename episodes” button, but Sonarr found nothing to rename.

You should put it in the drone factory and have it import from there, since it has a scene name, dropping in directly unto the sorted folder means it will be picked up as season 1 episode 4, not season 2.

Oh, interesting. I guess I need to follow up on troubleshooting the drone factory thing, since it hasn’t been working for me.

Sonarr figured out an absolutely absurd filename like “[HorribleSubs] PSYCHO-PASS 2 - 02 [1080p]”. That must be one hell of a regex lol
