Storage Wars Problems

I guess this show needs to be added to thexem.de since the scene is releasing season 7 episodes still marked as season 6.

I don’t know how to add it so I’m posting to see if there’s someone who can help me by adding it.

Please and thanks

tehbandit helped you out.
Keep in mind that someone (you for example) will have to update it as new episodes come out.

What is the real point of thxem.de… I mean if it takes effort for future shows then I see no benefit in it whatsoever. I might as well just rename the download file and use drone factory to import it.

Sonarr is missing the mark when relying on such external sources. Especially when there is nothing automatic about it.

I really think there must be a more streamlined approach to this problem that could be integrated within Sonarr.

I understand that for whatever reason you guys don’t want to go that route. However for the progress of this process or method it seems to be the only way forward.

I mean unless you guys are fine with the actual software having issues like this all the time…

I hope you realize that thetvdb.com relies on external contributors to keep it up to date as well. Everything takes effort, you seem to be asking for us, the Sonarr developers to deal with it so everyone else can sit back and relax, which simply isn’t viable, no one is getting paid to keep things up to date on TheTVDB, XEM or even work on Sonarr. Even if it took someone an hour to update XEM to link TheTVDB to what the scene is releasing, it fixes things for thousands of people and in the end is less man hours than dealing with it all manually.

How are we missing the mark with it? There is very little reason to re-invent the wheel and there is absolutely no way that we can force the scene and TheTVDB to align in every situation. We could write our own xem like solution that automates some of it, but the effort vs reward just isn’t there,

There is almost no way that this can be automated, things change often enough that any automation would be ruined, episodes get renumbered as specials on TheTVDB or the scene sticks with the previous season number meanwhile TheTVDB follows the the network/producers and they don’t match, so suddenly you have a different season and episode numbers and someone has to manually sort it out. Then the BluRay releases come out and things change again.

We’re well aware that this isn’t a perfect situation, but we’re dealing with it the best way we can.

Although it’s theoretically possible to automate creating drafts for TheXEM for most series, it requires somebody inventive enough and willing enough to sink hundreds of hours developing that.
TheXEM wasn’t created by us, nor maintained by us, but we’re happy that it was made and we’re grateful that there are users that frequently update the data, just like they are on tvdb. It’s called a community.

And I’m fine with it that sometimes issues pop up, it hopefully makes users realize that there is actually somebody (members of the community) on the other end of their download making it possible, day by day, release by release.
And hopefully, that makes someone enthusiastic enough to step up and help automate part of that process or at least contribute in their little corner of the internet.

I am new to Sonarr coming from sickbeard and just noticed a problem with this show. I have many of the episodes downloaded but when it changed from S6 to S7 Sonarr is not showing them as downloaded and switched them all to wanted. How do I fix this issue? How do I get Sonarr to match the scene numbering?

When I hover over the info in Sonarr it shows the correct scene matching information but Sonarr doesn’t show the episode as being downloaded. The episodes are all in the correct folder and I forced an update of the series but it still doesn’t find the episodes. Should I move them to my factory folder and try to re import them?

Here is what Sonarr is showing and also my series folder with the episodes. Sonarr shows up to the end of “season 6” but not the remapped season 7 episodes.

Sonarr doesnt match the scene numbering, it uses tvdb numbering, this is what you need to make it end up as, Sonarr will use thexem website to fix differences between scene and tvdb

I dont think XEM is used unless its been imported, but could be wrong

i would put all those episodes into drone factory and see if it figures it out

if not you should manually rename those existing ones into there s7 episodes,as its listed at tvdb

Dan, if I hover over the episode number it shows the correct scene match. I thought the whole point of all that was so that Sonarr would fix these issues automatically? While I have no problem putting the episodes into factory, I was under the impression that shouldn’t be necessary.

Sonarr uses scene numbering for new imports, not existing series (it assumes existing series are in tvdb numbering).
That’s why dan suggested to put it in the Drone Factory folder, coz that is assumed to use scene numbering.

yea, i took your post to mean that you had downloaded those episodes previously in sickbeard, which is correct right?

once you have done factory’d them or renamed them, all future episodes that SONARR downloads for you, will be renamed correctly based on whats at xem, so you only have to sort this out once, for that series, anything new will be fine.

Thanks for the clarification guys. I tossed the episodes in my factory folder and it imported them correctly now. I did a manual search on the last 2 episodes I didn’t have and it grabbed and downloaded them fine as well.
