Stalled post-processing torrents

I’ve talked about this on IRC with markus101 about this issue already but i’m looking for a solution to solve this issue or a workaround.

Currently I have only torrents setup as indexers to use it as torrent only. I’m using Transmission as my downloading client. I’ve setup 3 indexers as my source: Kickass, IpTorrents and TorrentLeech.

Since i’ve starting to use the torrents version I have troubles that some torrents stall on 100%. This is due that some torrents are rar packed and have a sample mkv in the root. NZBDrone automatically stops post processing this torrents. And since NZBDrone can’t unpack the archive and post process it stays stalled on 100%

But i’m looking how I can make this work with the current torrents-only setup. Since all torrent providers (also kickass torrents) have torrents that have rars in them and the sample in the root. So each time when i’m missing a serie i have to manually correct NZBDrone and look for a torrents that’s not packed.

I could do the following: Torrent send to Transmission, Transmission downloads, Run a post-processing script that unpacks it to a custom directory, and let drone factory post process it again. Are there any other ways to fix this?

Unpack in the same directory instead of the drone factory. However Drone would leave a copy of those unpacked files after import while torrent is still seeding.

And btw. plenty of private trackers do not allow rar in torrent, mostly because it inhibits long term seeding. It’s btw on the known list of limitations in the torrent topic on this forum.
