Sonarr + Transmission + Plex on MacOS 10.5 (Catalina)

All maps except not getting the remote path mappings to display the host information below in that row.|

Crossing fingers we can get sonarr/radarr to manage the files.

AND- even if we do not you have been a GREAT help! Very kind and generous.

Should work, if you have errors then post your docker logs e.g.:

Regards

Restarted Sonarr w/hopes of cleaner log file. Errors are showing in activity, and not necessarily in the Docker/Sonarr logs.

Fix your download client connection and test it in sonarr (i.e. ensure your authentication usernames/passwords match)

Also, check your remote path mapping (i.e. settings > download clients > remote path mappings)

Reference my screenshots

Regards

Everything was matching the screen shots when these logs were taken yesterday.
Not getting the Remote Path Mappings content to display (highlighted in previous post)
Logs included other items as well, prior to the Transmission edits recommended.

This Transmission connect is connected and it is working. That said, Sonarr still gives the same error for every file downloaded. So, Sonarr sees the new file, tries to import and do it’s thing but kicks that error.

Indexer error not relevant to the import errors.

@rhom

a) Think the paths are identical. Transmission points to the Sonarr container.
Can you elaborate on how to check connecting to sonarr bash?

SONARR MAPPING

TRANSMISSION MAPPING

b) Read/Write offering to everyone on target folder…all related folders.
Not sure how to assign specifically to PUID or PGID ~ and hoping EVERYONE covers it.

AND

image

At the very least the folder your have set for that series is wrong. Each series needs to have it’s own folder. If you’re using /data/sonarr it should be /data/sonarr/Series Name, no series should be pointed directly to /data/sonarr.

If your download client is directly running on macOS you should use a remote path mapping in Sonarr to remap that remote path to the local path the download client can use. You’ll also want to set the puid/pgid that the docker container is using to match your user though ideally you wouldn’t put anything in your user’s folder you’re just asking for trouble if you’re running things as different users.

At a granular level, yes each series gets its own folder. The example above assigns read/write to everyone, and everything enclosed so those series folders inherit the same. There is one series folder in there now, and its permissions are the same as the one posted for the parent.

Think the remote path in Sonarr is properly connected to Transmission. That part seems to be working fine, and Sonarr spots the new download when it is ready.

PUID/PGID are set to the default 1000 in the config files.
Haven’t messed that. How can you check and would you make the changes in the config file or in docker, or macOS - where would that be done?

I’m talking about your first screenshot in your previous post (the one I replied to), the series path is set to the root folder.

Based on the logs it can’t access the folder, if it’s looking in the correct place relative to the container then it’s fine, but /Users/pixelrogue/media3/... seems wrong.

You want these to match your user on your mac.

First screen shot, the directory names were erased - you would have seen the series fold there… left fragments of the names in the illustration.

Not sure how to identify the PUID/PGID on the Mac, where do I locate that information in order edit the config file to match?

Also had a set up using Users/Share2/…
No matter where the directories resided or permissions assigned the error has remained consistent.

The errors themselves cite the specific file for the failed import. Each time, specific file/direcotry, so to me it seems to match (?)

First result from Google:

The top 2 answers look reasonable.

They show the path from your download client. Did you mount /Users/pixelrogue/ into the Sonarr container at that exact path?

Is your download client in Docker or under macOS directly?
Which volumes did you mount to docker?

I have googled on PUID and PGID, though not as locating them for the Mac.
-reading now-

Thought I had paths from both Sonarr and Transmission there…my bad if missed…nope both are there.
url at present on Sonarr for specific series (series name removed)
That path is the same path mapped through Transmission. Sonarr and Transmission have fond one another both directions.

I see both of them, but I can’t tell whether you’ve mapped the correct things in your container.

I don’t follow, just post the entire container mapping, either from the config file or docker UI.

Again, is your download client in Docker or under macOS directly?

k. have the group and UID…will pick up again tomorrow.
not sure how UID is connected to PUID/PGID

You’d use UID for the PUID and the staff group’s ID for the PGID.

This is great…can’t wait to give it a try. Will take a bit to clear everything out, rebuild and try.

K. Deleted everything…started from scratch. New set up all worked as expected…except… same blasted error of Import Failed.

Here is what I had in terms of the updates to PUID and PGID

ID reveals uid=501 and gid=20(staff). (and groups=20(staff))
So, in the Sonarr config setup I updated the PUID=501 and GUID=20 (did this for all of them).
Set everything else up, downloaded a few files and hit that same Import Error. :flushed:

Now, this is a different Sonarr setup and it offers a permissions panel (which was not available in other setups).
