Sonarr Not Renaming Files And Putting Them In Proper Folder After Download

Sonarr was doing everything properly when it came to moving and renaming episodes, but because qBitTorrent was set to continue seeding files until it hit a 1:1 download:upload ratio, the files weren’t being deleted after the download. They were being copied into the new directory, but not being deleted from my downloads folder. I told qBitTorrent to remove torrents as soon as they’re done, and since it won’t transfer or rename the files. I tried undoing any settings I changed in qBitTorrent, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference.

Okay, now it seems that it’s back to the old system copying the files from my Downloads into the appropriate folders, but it doesn’t do it right away. I’m assuming it does it every 15 minutes, when it does the episode checks. If there’s a way to have it keep up to date more frequently, that would be nice, and I’m wondering if there’s a way to clear my qBitTorrent downloads once they’ve been auto-organized by Sonarr.

That is because Sonarr doesn’t know they exist any more, Sonarr relies on the download client to tell Sonarr when files are ready to import, if they don’t exist in the download client Sonarr won’t be told they are done.

Since qBittorrent doesn’t expose a way for Sonarr to know if the download finished seeding or was stopped for another reason there isn’t a great way to handle this scenario, but it could be handled with a Custom script thats executed after the import.

So then how do I get the files deleted from my Downloads folder when Sonarr moves them to their appropriate folder? Or will that just always have to be a manual step?

You could use a custom script in Sonarr.
