Sonarr not grabbing episodes automatically

Hello, I’m having trouble with Sonarr not grabbing episodes. I have it selected to download from KickassTorrents.

Here are my logs since 7:30AM, the time the server turns on by itself daily.

TV shows are set as monitored. RSS is every 15 minutes. I woke up today, and had to tell it to download the shows manually :(. It works just fine! I click the show in the calendar, and click automatic search and it downloads them all… But I’d really like to have them automated… I’m attaching pictures of my configuration as well. Can anyone see what I’m doing wrong?

Thank you!

If you click manual search on one of the episodes you think should have been picked up, it will show a red exclamation mark on the right of the releases. If you hover over it, it will tell you the reason they are being rejected.

KAT has a 25 item limit on their RSS feed and we will page up to 30 pages (assuming KAT can go back that far), if Sonarr is unable to find the items because the RSS Sync hasn’t run recently enough it will log that it can’t find items are you will need to resort to searching, which it did in this case:

16-3-1 07:30:53.6|Warn|KickassTorrents|Indexer KickassTorrents rss sync didn't cover the period between 28/02/2016 14:03:11 and 01/03/2016 6:00:10 UTC. Search may be required.

With Sonarr being offline for more than a day this would happen.

So… Would it be better for me to pick another indexer?

Sonarr is only off for 6 hours a day, between 1:30 am and 7:30 am. Should I add a delay for torrents?

What would your suggestion be for this?

Thank you kindly

A second indexer is always a good idea, but it will need to support RSS paging and looking at RARBG it doesn’t appear to. A delay won’t help if Sonarr never sees the items on the RSS feed.

OK, most shows I get are from eztv, so would it be possible to add this rss feed?

What I did was add:

And then put this text:

Would this be enough to automatically grab the episodes?

Thank you!

Unfortunately Sonarr doesn’t supports paging on generic RSS feeds because we have no way of knowing if it supports paging or what the paging parameters are, so it won’t help here.

Thank you for your fast response.

Do you have any suggestions? Thank you Markus.

Well this looks like an extreme case as your system was offline for more than a day. If it was able to do RSS feeds up until 1:30am there would only be 6 hours of releases to cover until 7:30am, depending on how many releases are published that night it might be fine as Sonarr will go back up to 750 items (30 pages at 25 per page).

For extended periods of downtime you will almost certainly need to search for missing episodes though, even with other indexers typically Sonarr only goes back 10 pages of results, for a total of 1000 results.

Make multiple entries for 1 indexer. Have entry 1 only request 5030, have entry 2 only request 5040.

That will double your results retrieve in the gap.

But I don’t understand why you’re saying It was offline for more than a day… It was only off from 1:30 am to 7;30 am.

Here is another pastebin that shows this because, once again, this morning it didn’t grab anything :frowning:

@Mirx_NL I’m not sure how to do that. I looked in the Indexer, there isn’t an option. In the settings where would that be? Thank you :slightly_smiling:

First you have to switch on advanced settings. Then, if you add a newznab / torznab source, you will get 3 additional options. The first one lets you configure the categories you want queried.

So you can add the same indexer twice, 1 with 5030, 2 with 5040.

Thank you, yes, I see those options. How can I find a torznab source? I tried using the “implementing a torznab” but honestly, I was quite confused. @Mirx_NL Do you think you can go into more detail? Thank you!
