Description of issue:

I’m seeing sporadic and frustrating deleting of files after downloading them via Sonarr. My download client is Sabnzbd. Steps:

  • Files are downloaded via Sonarr.
  • Sab shows that they are download
  • Navigate to the folder and the files are gone.
  • Can see in the logs the files were deleted in sonarr sometimes.

Happens when downloads happen automatically or when I manually trigger a download from within sonarr and even when downloading without sonarr using sab into the same monitored folder.

I know there are other posts about this subject but I can’t seem to figure it out after reading those. Let me know if I should share my settings / configurations.

My gut feeling is you’re probably mixing the download path with the sorted series path or you’re using the sorting functionality in sab, or a combination of both.
Please post the path sab is using to download files, and the path where sonarr (should) move files to.

Here’s my set up with sab:
Folders > Users Folders > Completed download folder > Z:\

Categories > TV > Folder Path > \192.168.1.50\media1\Seagate\videos\TV shows\TV

I should note that the ‘Z’ drive is essentially ’ \192.168.1.50\media1\Seagate\videos'

Sonarr set up:
Settings > Media Management > Root folders > Path > \192.168.1.50\media1\Seagate\videos\TV shows\TV

I do see this warning but I’m not sure what to do about it?

You can follow the wiki link in the health warning, it’s basically telling you “don’t download to the same folder where sonarr moves completed files to”…

Thanks for that. I wasn’t sure what to do to solve that so used chatgpt and figured it out. Seems like things are back to normal.
