Sonarr is "unable to parse episode from filename"

This is a new problem, which has crept up around the same time as the problem with KAT’s seeds/peers.

I’m assuming that’s why Sonarr is not able to automatically start downloading the shows, and instead I’m forced to “Select All” in the Wanted list and hit Search manually.

But after I do that, a large proportion of the files don’t Import automatically.
Sonarr recognizes the shows, but not the season and episode.
And I’ve noticed that all these files have one thing in common.

They’re all files with a numbering system that’s different from the folder they’re in.
In each case, the file has an s0e numbering scheme, and the folder has an SxxExx numbering scheme

For instance:
…\tv-sonarr\The.Big.Bang.Theory.S09E04.HDTV.x264-LOL[ettv]\the.big.bang.theory.904.hdtv-lol[ettv].mp4

Any solutions?

Please a couple minutes of hastebin .

I have the same problem. Sonar does not automaticaly download some episodes. I then do a manual search wich does find the episodes but does not import them. When I do a manual import i see the message “unable to parse episode from filename”.

Where do you want the logs ? How can I upload them ? Or you want them copy pasted here ?

I did look in the log myself but I can not find anything related to the episode I am having this problem with at this moment.

(This is after going to manual import)

Looking at the log does not show anything related to this episode. Do I have to enable something before we can see anything related to this ? Let me know and I will get you the log.

greetings

Think I got it. I enable debug and get the following log:

http://pastebin.com/KsgfPUet

This is only the part where the manual import does not recognize the episode.

Hope it helps, if not, let me know.

Hi

I got the same problem. I have logged the whole process:

http://pastebin.com/EKNS5u9g

Hope this will help.

@nachtwacht I don’t see any issues in those logs, we need the logs generated by the import process, not a manual import though.

@Promi which file am I looking for?

Hello Markus,

the problem is, Sonarr does not import… Atleast not automaticaly. For some reason, Sonarr can not automaticaly find this episode and therefore does not import.

I “solved” this by manualy searching (it now finds the episode wich I then download all from inside Sonarr) but after the download nothing happens. It keeps showing “downloading 100%”

What happens after I try to manualy import the file, you see in the log.

Won’t be long before this will happen again so next time I will see if I can get you a longer log. Will keep you updated.

Please let me know if my debug settings are correct and if I am sending you the correct files.

That is a debug log, so that should have the information we need.

ok, thanks, will keep the settings as is and will update here somewhere next week.

Hi Markus

The problem continues.
Here are my logs
http://hastebin.com/cineyugeyu.tex

Here’s some more information that might be useful.

This is the Queue that has failed

Here’s the error:

In Manual Import:

This is the error:

And here’s the folder structure of the Completed Downloads folder.

The problem ONLY seems to happen, as far as I can tell, when the numbering of the Folder is SnnEnn (e.g. S02E05) and the numbering of the file is s(n)e(nn) (e.g. 205)

All other files seem to get successfully identified and imported.

Hope these logs have the information you need.

The issue is the [ettv] at the end, it causes it to get parsed as anime, so it fails (absolute 205 instead of season 2 episode 5).

I believe this is already fixed in the develop branch.

ok, not usefull to post my logs then because my failing episide also has the [ettv] in the name.

I am running version 2.0.0.3530

Is it correct that it is not fixed in this version ? (I always thought it was auto updating and I would be running the latest version…)

tia

Thats the latest master release, which is almost always behind the latest develop release (except for a brief moment when they are the same when we’re releasing).

Correct, it is not yet in that release.

ok, so to finish the discussion

it is being fixed and we will see the fix soon in the next release ?

Or if you’re so inclined and are the kind who downloads Kodi Betas and Release Candidates before the official release it out, switch to the develop branch instead of the master branch!

That’s what I’ve just done!

Wow

I would have never thought of that!

ok. Thanks. That gives me all the more reason to do something I’ve been meaning to do for a while now.

Switching to develop branch!

Cheers!

It will be in the next release, how soon it will be is unknown

Thank you very much, good to know. No problem waiting

Greetings and take care
