Sonarr incorrectly parsing 480p Bluray results as 720p Bluray

First off… thanks for taking the time to read and help. It’s much appreciated!

My typical profile looks like so:
SDTV -> WEBDL-480p -> DVD -> HDTV-720p -> WEBDL-720p -> (cutoff) Bluray-720p

Today I tried to upgrade a season I have from 480p Bluray (SDTV) to 720p Bluray. Sonarr keeps deciding to download the 480p Bluray, even though there’s 6 720 packs available (and 3 meet cutoff even). I can’t seem to figure out why it keeps going for the SD pack.

(Edit: Line 302 appears to be where the parser decides this SD Blu-Ray pack is 720p.)

As you can see in the profile settings, I removed SD qualities. It didn’t help. I also tried setting max size for 720p Bluray to Unlimited. It didn’t help either.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a legit bug?

There’s nothing in the release name Adventure.Time.S03.BluRay.AAC2.0.x264-DEiMOS which specifies that the release is 480p. Presumably the parsing assumes that BlueRay is 720p unless a resolution is specified (which may be a bug, or just a reasonable assumption).

So, changing your profile settings and sizes isn’t going to affect this. If you want to avoid that pack, you could blacklist it.

This naming format is pretty common BTN for SD packs from Blu-Ray sources.

(Edit: Note, this is not a BTN internal release. It’s found many places on the interwebs.)

I’ll blacklist this one, but I feel like it’s going to become an ongoing issue.

(Edit 2: I’ve added required words “720p” in the release name. This is a bit of a bandaid and will probably screw me on harder-to-find shows that only get ripped in SD – like most Food Network shows – but at least I’ll be getting good stuff until I turn it off.)

Actually, I take that back, the minimum size for 720p bluray is probably worth adjusting.

I’m assuming that for season packs Sonarr totals up the runtime(?), so 26 episodes at 11min = 28*11 = 308min or just over 5 hours (Sonarr allows for the first and last episodes of a season sometimes being double episodes).

So, I think a min of 200mb/30min 400mb/60min might be a reasonable starting point? That should eliminate packs for this particular season which are under the (approx.) 2 gig mark.

Bluray without a resolution is considered 720p, this comes from when it was implemented and that is how they were represented. I looked at this recently and found that BTN was changing the name that was presented to Sonarr on the API from what the original release was named (as shown in the download client).
