Sonarr version (exact version): 20241121-5 Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): N/A OS: DSM 7.2.2-72806 Update 3 Debug logs:
This one contains information regarding recent attempt to download ‘Zero Day’
This one is part of one of the logs where it’s parsing random files
Description of issue:
I’ve installed Sonarr natively on my Synology DS224+ from the Synocommunity package manager.
First of all, there’s the long standing issue of it not importing anything from SABnzbd. i woke up this morning and checked Sonarr to find NINE episodes in the ‘Activity’ tab, all with the orange ‘waiting to import’ arrow.
I’ve also now got lots of large log files of it apparently trying to parse random programs like Keeping up with the Kardashians that I would never let anywhere near my system
I’ve tried to understand the log files and, on the face of it, it appears as if Sonarr is failing to determine if the episode is essentially “real” or a sample but I’m not sure. This could possibly explain why the Activity tab seemingly can’t find any eligible files to process and also why the manual import doesn’t work either.
I tried uninstalling it and re-installing it last night and setting it up ‘fresh’ with my existing library but that made no difference.
I’m also having the same issue with Radarr but then the manual import did work on that last night. Please let me know if you need any more info.
Orange “waiting to import”:
This means something is wrong/unexpected about the download. If you hover over it, sonarr will tell you what’s wrong, and if you want you can import the episode manually. Again, normal behavior.
Zero Day was a odd one cause when you do a manual search on it cause it doesn’t autodownload on average Sonarr claims the files were posted well over 200 days ago. I know they’re the correct files cause I downloaded a couple of episodes and manually verified them.
If you hover over the orange arrow, it tells you that there either are no files eligible to import or that it cannot determine whether or not it is a sample.
When you go to the ‘Wanted’ tab to do a manual import, since it cannot find any eligible files in the ‘complete’ folder, manual import doesn’t work.
And yet when you go into the file manager to check the ‘completed’ folders properly, you see the MKV files for each episode successfully downloaded.
SABnzbd also confirms the episodes were successfully downloaded.
So it’s not normal behaviour. Reading some comments on Reddit, there’s a suggestion this might be a permissions issue caused by the recent DSM update as well.
As we can see, it’s telling us that there are “No files are eligible for import” in the SABnzbd completed downloads folder so let’s have a look to see if it’s telling the truth.
1.82gb MKV file doesn’t look like a sample, but let’s download that file to my PC and play it in VLC to be sure.
6 minutes and 21 seconds into a 24 minute, 19 second episode. Clearly not a sample.
Since I reported these issues last week, I installed SickRage as a backup which has been performing without an issue and correctly importing every show downloaded from SABnzbd.
So again, a week later, this is clearly not “normal behaviour”.
Just thought I’d come back with an update. I literally reformatted my entire NAS over the weekend, since I’ve clearly got nothing better to do.
Reinstalled everything, Plex, Sonarr … all of it.
Still having the same problems. Still have to manually log in to DSM, go to the “Completed” folder and manually move the files over that have successfully downloaded.
Manual Import still not working properly either. At this rate, I’m almost wishing that the likes of Medusa, Sickrage and Sickgear were still maintained.
Although if you want a further twist in the tale, I’ve just tried using Sonarr to download episode 2 of the show “Secret Levels” and it did it without an issue so what’s the difference ? Why is it seemingly being so selective ?.
This is still happening. The latest episode of Greys Anatomy was successfully found and downloaded but, apparently, not eligible for import so I had to manually do it. Again.
This is not a Sonarr version, which Sonarr version are you running from System: Status.
Are you still having issues with Sonarr being unable to detect that files are a sample or that there aren’t any files eligible for import?
These are potentially two separate issues, the latter is most likely a permissions issue and Sonarr can’t see/access the files.
If you can post updated logs for an import that is not happening automatically that would be helpful.
For permissions make sure Sonarr and SAB are either running as the same user or at a minimum part of the same media group that has read + write access to all the file that SAB and Sonarr need to operate on.
