Sonarr does not find season pack but it is present on indexer

Version: 3.0.6.1342
OS: Windows 11
Description of issue:
I’m trying to download The Witcher season 2, I added the serie and started a search for the season pack for season 2 but nothing was found. The problem is that there are several on at least one of the indexer I have added on my Sonarr (refer to this link).
The indexer is that should be a match is RARBG, set up through Jackett. The test on both Jackett and Sonarr of the indexer has positive result, the indexer is activated for both interactive and automatic search and I selected all the categories relative to tv shows (see attached photo).

In the logs (debug level) there is no error, just messages that say that no indexer found any result for the current search.
I think I may have set up the indexer wrong, can anyone help me set it up correctly?

see the search troubleshooting article

https://wiki.servarr.com/sonarr/troubleshooting#searches-indexers-and-trackers

since you didn’t provide logs there is no help that can be provided. but if you dont figure it out after the troubleshooting article you’ll have trace logs and screenshots to share

I didn’t share the logs because I didn’t find anything useful in there but here they are: logs trace level

those downloads show nothing other than the tail end of some search whose results are some of the worst named releases i’ve ever seen.

Where are your trace logs and screenshots from going through the troubleshooting article - and I’m assuming your issue will not be a common problem?

There will likely be no errors so that is not what to look for at all

What was unclear about the 6 steps for how to gather and share logs?

your logs seem to show it searching for hard episode numbers, which is used for anime, not normal shows (season one had 8 eps, ep 9 would be s02e01)

edit the series and make sure series type is set to standard, and not anime.

Thank you very much! That was actually the problem, I do not understand how I missed it.

even listed as a common problem as well

anything that can make that easier to conenct the dots?

https://wiki.servarr.com/sonarr/troubleshooting#wrong-series-type

neither section shows the different log entries each of the series type searches generates, if those were there - and people read them - maybe it would make it a bit more obvious that their series type was set incorrectly?

even with that a lot of this stuff does come down to using the software long enough that you learn what things are meant to look like, and while you may not immediately realise whats wrong, you know that something doesnt look right and needs to be looked at deeper.

ie a new user probably wouldnt know the log text generated by the different search types and while i have no anime shows ive seen enough season searches to know what those do look like (series : s02) and that series : ep is not the correct type of search. once you know that the rest falls into place.

also, series type isnt visible when looking at a series page, you need to edit it to see it. i know the episode numbers are listed in brackets after the season episode though, so there is some indication - if you know what youre looking for.

you also have the option to display the type column on the series list page but im not sure people actually use that page regularly a lot (i never go near it), and its off by default (i think)

added examples to troubleshooting; hopefully that’ll help

also updated the FAQ entry as well with more details
