Sonarr crashes out on launch - Epic Fail!

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.3732
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows):
OS: Windows 10 Pro

Description of issue (if you think you’ve found a bug please include steps to reproduce): Sonarr stopped working on Feb 28th and I didn’t notice right away. A few days later when I went to check, I found it was stopped.

Any attempts to launch it result in the following error message: http://imgur.com/I2dZ5gs

“TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for ‘System.Data.Common.DataStorage’ threw an exception”

I’ve tried to restore a back up from when it was running following the wiki procedure. I’ve also tried a complete uninstall and reinstall. I’ve also tried to repair .NET on Windows as the error message looks similar to some .NET errors.

Nothing changed on my system on the 28th (when it stopped working) and there didn’t seem to be any updates to Sonarr since January either.

Wondering if anyone can offer any suggestions - I’ve already tried the IRC and received some ideas but none of them have worked! Would really love to keep using Sonarr rather than having to find an alternative.

I forget what we tried on IRC, but worth trying:

Repair .net: https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=30135
Install .net: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/aa496123 (Sonarr requires 4.0, but it shouldn’t hurt to have 4.6)
Disable anti-virus to make sure its not conflicting (it may have been updated around this time)
Try running Sonarr on another computer (if available) and restore the backup

More involved solutions would be to try to repair the Windows installation or to re-install completely.

Thanks for the suggestions Markus, I did try everything on the list and sure enough, Sonarr runs just fine on another Win10 Pro machine even after restoring my DB.

Going to have to re-install Windows on my HTPC, c’est la vie.
