Sonarr Access to the path is denied for every new download folder

Sonarr version (exact version): 3.0.6.1342
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): 5.20.1.34
OS: Synology DSM 7
Debug logs:
Description of issue: Access to the path is denied.

Since upgrading to DSM 7, my Synology refuses to process newly downloaded media files. I have since removed the Downloads directory and re-created it with the permissions given on another thread from a few years back.

So if a file downloads, then it is unable to be imported, if go on to Synology, shared folders, and then add custom permissions for nzbdrone and save it, it then processes that file, but the next time a media file downloads, the same thing happens. Its like Sonarr isnt getting permission to act on any new Folders created in the downloads folder. Has anyone else come across a solution for this please as its driving me mad.

I have the same issue, and after weeks of tinkering have given up.

I finally resolved it after Everything it was the setting in SabNzbd. You need to set the rights on downloads to 777.

Seems that the DSM Permission structure has changed considerably from 6 to 7z

Click config / settings —> folders —> select advanced settings at the top.
Then put 777 in the Permissions for completed downloads box.

777ing is not the solution nor is 666ing

That’s like taking the locks off all your doors because your key is sticky

Believe it’s the sc-downloads group that’s needed

But this is a SynoCommunity issue/question - not a sonarr one

It’s the only solution! Sc-downloads doesn’t have any access in DSM7 but thanks for your thoughts. Granting 777 to downloaded media on a secured nas drive really isn’t going to keep me awake at night.
