Is there an easy to use like a for dummies document on how to use and set it up. I currently use Sickbeard and Sabnzd but can figure out how to get sonarr to load do I need all the other software that’'s mentioned on the website

Sonarr is like Sickbeard so you will need to install a download client usenet or torrent based.
Then you need like Sickbeard a decent indexer.
So which part you need help with ?
yes I currently use sabnzbdb client with usenet accounts.
I downloaded sonarr just from its own website have it in my start menu and desktop icon but it doesn’t launch anything. Does it work like sickbeard where it launches in the browser if yes it doesn’t do it. Do I need to open a port?
Sorry just tried it again and it launched yeah!! Guess now just got to figure out how to set it up. Is it smilar setup like sickbeard add in my usenet accounts and search providers. Do I need all the other software I’ve seen and read the website, or am I good with using my nzn download client with sonarr?

So am okay to use it with sabnzbdb or do I need a different download client? Do I need a script to send it to sonarr after download or use one of the built in scripts
So trying to setup download client but it keeps failing I keep getting error in the log:
Invalid request Validation failed:
– Unable to connect to SABnzbd
– Test was aborted due to an error: Unable to connect to SABnzbd, please check your settings
But that doesn’t tell me anything,
Under Host: I tried the IP address and the words localhost
neither seem to work
API I tried the Api key and the nzb api key.
the error log doesn’t give me any idea of what is wrong, I have Sab open
What exactly is in the logs.
A generic failed to connect usually means SAB isn’t running at the host and port specified or a firewall is blocking it, though the logs will help (upload them and link them here).
I’m almost there with it had to add /sabnzb
Now its telling me to disable tv sorting don’t get that how will sab know to send it to sonarr after download is there a script somewhere.

okay so read the wiki on how sonarr monitors the download folder, so in sab does that mean I leave my TV category there but do not set a script on it
I got it I was going into categories not sorting yeah Is finally added to disable
Is there a way to archive previous seasons on shows that I have watched. Just when I import my shows I don’t want it to search and downloads seasons of show I already watched and deleted. Is there a way to set a setting not to monitor for older episodes. But I’m thinking I may have read or seen on you tube video that you have to search manually for old episodes???

A few options:
- When adding a show, choose “future only” or “latest season”.
- You can unmonitor at the individual episode, season or even show level by clicking the bookmark/flag icon.
- Use season pass to quickly change monitoring settings for existing series.
If you delete stuff you watched outside sonarr (e.g. through windows explorer), it may be useful to enable the “ignore deleted episodes” option in the settings as well. This will toggle the monitor flag for that episode after a disk rescan (every 12 hours if memory serves me) so sonarr will not download it again.
