I’m trying to grab a series at the moment and there is a bunch of 20MB samples in there that continuously get grabbed for every season any time I do an automatic search and it’s really slow to go through an manual search every episode in over 20 seasons.
I’d love to be able to have an option in edit series to set it to ignore downloads under XYZ MB for the series as all the episodes are over 700MB.
there is a setting to adjust the minimum and maximum file sizes for videos in each quality profile check out the quality section of the settings and down the page you can use the slider to adjust the file sizes you need
Enable advanced settings to see them. Depending on how the indexer reports the size (and par2 files) things will vary, so leave some breathing room otherwise releases will be rejected (as instructed).
I can’t move it small enough, it moves from 31MB to like 62MB and there are some short shows out there that are around 55MB and it would just ignore those? I tried adding a new filter but I couldn’t add any new qualities so the filter was useless. I was going to add a new filter and set it to a new quality e.g. “SD - Larger than 60MB” as the name but moving the slider only made it so both my filters, the default “SD” and my “SD - Larger than 60MB” used the same quality and as i stated above, that lets shorter shows slip through.
The size settings are global; not tied to a specific quality profile, which is why they aren’t under edit inside a quality profile, so your proposed profiles will be the exact same with different names.
A sample for a 30 minute SDTV episode seems a bit high, for a 60 minute show that seems a bit more reasonable, but that has a different low end limit.
Are these samples all coming from the same indexer? I haven’t seen many small releases like that so I’m wondering if its limited to a specific indexer that would be better off being disabled.
Unfortunately due to how the size constraint is stored (saving you from entering a min size value for both 30 and 60 minute episodes), its not currently possible to be more granular (smaller than 30MB increments).
@protocol77 you just made my day. I had no idea about the advanced settings, and setting file size limiters. I was actually coming here to request a feature like that.
Now I’m wondering, is there a way to set file size limitations based on lengths of the items you’re downloading?
Like, typically I like my 20-30 minute shows to be between 100 - 300mb (I download SD/webrip), and my 40 - 60 minute shows to be between 300-500mb.
Or would I just set up two different quality checks and specify it according to each show?
@ohhoe The slider limits both 30 and 60 minute episodes (60 minute limit is essentially 2x the 30 minute limit) so the best you can get is 100-300 and 200-600 for 30 and 60 minutes respectively.
You can’t setup limits per profile, they’re global settings.
Oh well, that’ll still definitely give me more flexibility when it’s searching my providers than I’m currently using. A lot of the episodes of things I wanted were getting skipped over because their naming conventions didn’t work with my format preferences even though they were what I wanted.
