Can’t remember when this started to be honest, and assume it’s not affecting everyone as I see no one talking about it… I click the season search button on any show and it scans reports but does nothing.
I go to episode one of the season, do a manual search and there are loads of options (including non-blacklisted ones), invariably I sort the search by size and set the full season to download manually.
Any idea why? The log always shows something like this:
Searching 3 indexers for [Last Week Tonight with John Oliver : S02]
Processing 51 reports
Season search completed. 0 reports downloaded.
I use both Usenet and Torrents, set to prefer Usenet. The John Oliver option I used to illustrate this has (non-blacklisted) episodes available on both Usenet and torrent, but season search picks up nothing. Happens regardless of the show.
Here’s a shot of the result of a manual search on episode 1…
Why would season search not download this?
Also, here is a shot of the log file entries:
Season searches only include monitored episodes. The episode in your screenshot is not monitored and I assume the others aren’t as well.

Thanks Markus101, that certainly explains it - never thought of that, just assumed a manual search would override it (I think it used to do, although I know there have been big changes to the monitored stuff). I think the changes are great by the way, much better and very well thought out (unlike my question :-))
Thanks!
Yeah, it used to ignore it (and individual searches still do), but we were seeing issues when someone intentionally ignored episodes and searched for the full season/series and Sonarr would ignore them.
If you search for one episode the monitored state is ignored because its rare that you wouldn’t want the search to complete.
Makes perfect sense - monitored/unmonitored is now so useful. I also really like the option to view unmonitored on the calendar - I’ll often add a show unmonitored as I may want to watch it at some point later and don’t want to forget about it.
Even though that feature is pretty new there are already a couple of times it’s popped up and reminded me of something I had forgotten all about it.
Incredible work. Thanks. And thanks for the quick reply!
