Searching and filtering questions

Hey, guys,

I just finished setting up Sonarr with Jackett in conjunction with Transmission and Plex on macOS and I love it! However, I haven’t been able to configure my indexers to find what I want yet.

I’ve added all of my series and several indexers into Jackett and Sonarr. I love the flexibility and interfaces, but I’m a little picky with my releases, so I’m wondering how I can achieve the following:

  1. Can I add a different public tracker mirror into Sonarr or Jackett? The ones that come with Jackett for this tracker don’t seem to find a specific TV show that another mirror does

  2. Can I create different search filters for each TV show or a universal filter that would apply one required search term to each release, not all terms? For example, I get most of my TV shows from Group1 and a specific anime from Group2. I added “Group1” and “Group2” as “Must contain” terms in one filter, but then I realised that Sonarr’s probably checking that they all apply to every release. Should I create one filter for each term?

Thanks for all the hard work to the devs. It’s gonna relieve me of a lot of tedious work haha.

Let’s see if I understand your question.

  1. I got 1 tracker that I have configured in jacket and also added to sonarr, but I’m also able to add the tracker to sonarr it self because sonarr supports it by default (by using the API of that tracker).
So 1 tracker but added twice with different search results (sometimes)

  2. Yes you can.
    Make use of tags.
If no tags are used it’s global/universal.
If you add tags to the filter then you can add that tag to a certain show.
I use this option for shows where I want the amzn.web-dl and not the shitty -tbs release or the iTunes.web-dl.

  1. No, sorry, I don’t think I explained it clearly enough in an effort avoid mentioning the specific tracker. TrackerA is available as 2 separate indexers in Jackett out of the box, which I configured and then also added in Sonarr, however TrackerA has various mirrors online and the one that I’ve always used is neither of these 2. So, since I can’t find episodes of a specific TV shows in the 2 provided indexers of TrackerA, I’d like to add my own indexer for the mirror I use, which provides an RSS feed. Can this be done?
  2. Awesome! This sounds like what I want. Thanks.

If you’re able to add it in Jackett it should be possible.
Or in sonarr if you add it manual but that depends if the info given from the RSS feed provides enough info and is workable.
Else I think it’s more a option for jacket to add another mirror of a feed.
