Description of issue:
When running manual search for “Boku no Hero Academia S2E18” I get many results from all of my indexers, but not a specific instance that is the dubbed version that im looking for. Named “[Golumpa] My Hero Academia S2 - 19 [English Dub] [FuniDub 720p x264 AAC] [MKV]”.
I know its there since I can go and search on the indexer site myself and find it, but would like to know why it isnt being found by sonarr’s search. Is it because the api search function is using the absolute episode number, and this release only uses the season version? If so, is there a way to set sonarr to do a search in both formats and collate the results?
It looks like season 2 does not have an alias on TheXEM.de so Sonarr doesn’t actually link any of those results to the correct series and episode. TheXEM.de will need to be updated to correct that.
Is it episode 18 or 19? Assuming that you meant the same episode number for both then the issue could be the category isn’t being searched on that indexer (if dubs are in a different category), but beyond that I’m not sure why the indexer didn’t return it.
In sonnar, have you set your series type as Anime? because this sounds like it’s a naming issue with the index, for example, if I add that anime series and do a manual search for S02E18, I will get the following results in the name.
My Hero Academia S02E18
My Hero Academia S02E31
My Hero Academia 2- 31
My Hero Academia - 31
So the reason you’re not seeing S2 - 19 is because it does not exist for that series episode, this is not a sonarr issue, it would either be an index issue or an issue with the anime db where sonarr retrieves its information.
Ah yes sorry I misstyped there, I meant 19 for both so should have said “Boku no Hero Academia S2E19”
Yes I’ve set the series type as Anime in sonarr.
This is still a naming issue with the indexer you’re using, if I was to do a manual search, either through sonarr or one of my indexers, I would receive the following type of results.
My Hero Academia S02E19
Boku no Hero Academia S02E19
My Hero Academia S02E32
Boku no Hero Academia S02E32
My Hero Academia 2- 32
Boku no Hero Academia 2- 32
My Hero Academia - 32
Boku no Hero Academia - 32
In some of the files, I will even see “My Hero Academia Boku no Hero Academia” followed by the season and or the episode number.
This all boils down to the uploader, since they incorrectly named it, for example, the episode in question.
[Golumpa] My Hero Academia S2 - 19 [English Dub] [FuniDub 720p x264 AAC] [MKV]
should have been
[Golumpa] My Hero Academia S2E19 [English Dub] [FuniDub 720p x264 AAC] [MKV]
[Golumpa] My Hero Academia S2E32 [English Dub] [FuniDub 720p x264 AAC] [MKV]
[Golumpa] My Hero Academia 2- 32 [English Dub] [FuniDub 720p x264 AAC] [MKV]
[Golumpa] My Hero Academia - 32 [English Dub] [FuniDub 720p x264 AAC] [MKV]
Due to the way the uploader named the file, you may find that, if you do a manual search for S02E06 (19) that it will actually show up, the only problem, is that sonarr will assume it is S02E06(19) and not S02E19(32), I would suggest reporting the file on your indexer as incorrectly named.
