I have installed and then removed my sonarr and am going to re-install according to wiki after I finish this. This is more of a discussion than a a question but its a question too. It involves Sabnzbd+, Sonarr, Radarr, and Kodi. There are others that can probably do the same thing but these are what I use. I am posting this in the hope somebody can clear some of the mysteries about it all and the connections. etc. Hope I don’t confuse, etc.
I am going to try and explain how Sabnzbd+, Sonarr, Radarr, and Kodi work together.
This is a system that allows the user to get TV and Movies to show, either on the computer or on a TV. Sabnzbd+ is the center of it all. Sabnzbd+ Has a Host, a Port and an API. These three things are also transferred to Sonarr and Radarr. It downloads all the TV and Movies for the others to deal with. It is told, by Sonarr and Radarr what to get and where to get it. Then Sabnzbd+ will take that information and download what is requested. It does this in three steps and uses three folders to do the job to install Sabnzbd+ you must first set these folders up. I call mine, next, incomplete and complete. So it will first put the information from Sonarr and Radarr into next, and then into incomplete whilst downloading, and then into complete when its all done. When that happens Sonarr and Radarr will know it because they are listening all the time and will take what is in complete and then put it in their folder that they keep their stuff (TV or Movies depending on Sonarr and Radarr). That is, basically what Sonarr and Radarr do. Its all pretty simple - kinda.
The problem is that there seems to be problems along the way. The problems start with the Host of Sabnzbd+ It usually starts with something like 127.0.0.1 but for mysterious things it sometimes changes. One must make absolute sure that the API is tarsnferred to Sonarr and Radarr perfectly. When you are doing this you must test it. the information is in something called a download client which both Sonarr and Radarr have. When you enter you then test. If you cannot make a connection with Sabnzbd+ it will tell you. In Sonarr and Radarr you also have to create what they called “root folders” These are folders that are used to know where stuff goes. I have named mine tv and movies. Sonarr(tv) and Radarr(movies). In addition Sonarr and Radarr need another to know where the TV or Movies come from which is where Sabnzbd+ puts the download TV and Movies. You also need to put a root folder in Sonarr and Radarr so they know where to find them. I do not know how Sonarr and Radarr know which one is which or which one to use but, apparently it knows. I suspect its because what they contain. ie. Sonarr knows what is for TV because they know what they ordered, same for Radarr but for Movies. That is the basics of the system but now we have to show them on either the tv or the computer and that is where Kodi comes in. You have to also setup Kodi and then you are ready to go. You have to tell kodi where the folders are and you have to setup a connection with both kodi and Sonarr and Radarr.
For help you can usually just goto the program you use for your computer and ask it a question and get an answer. I use firefox webrowser but any good browser will do that works for you. If you enter, for instance: “linux how to setup kodi for sonarr” you will get an answer. You can also use ai but be very careful. It tries but you have to keep your eyes open all the time. Sometimes they start doing the same thing, over and over and you have to stop them. Just keep your eyes open all the time with ai.

That’s it for me. I would really appreciate any and all thought on this one from anybody. Especially those that can explain where things go wrong and why…
I hope I do not confuse, etc. and apologize if I do…
