Sab failed downloads not getting cleared

Sonarr version (exact version): 3.0.10.1567-ls185 by linuxserver.io
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): 6.12.0.182
OS: docker
Debug logs: working on getting the debug logs next time this happens as the last failure was over 24 hours ago and the logs only go back that far.
Description of issue:

failed downloads from sab have started to remain in my completed\sonarr folder and are not getting cleared out when sonarr removes the job (or sees the job has failed?)

remove failed is enabled in the sab download client options - always has been

it seems to be a fairly recent issue as the failed folders only go back a couple of weeks - i have done container updates for both of them within that period.

the basic logs show the “bad” downloads being found, sent to sab, and then nothing. eventually a good one completes so i didnt notice until now.

sab is 3.7.2 (linuxserver.io), also dockered

debug logs appear to be completely unhelful, its not showing any issues. is sonarr deleting the file or asking sab to? ie should i be checking the sab logs (i will anyway, just want to know for future reference)

told sonarr to download the nzb again and it appears to be a sab issue - it is deleting the temp folder where it downloaded to, but not the failed extraction folder.

its removing this
