Sonarr version 2.0.0.5085: Windows 10 x64 Pro Build 1709:
Just starting out with Sonarr and Usenet. I have a fairly extensive TV Show library already. I want to have things conform to my existing structure. I have a NAS device which is mapped to M: on my Sonarr system. (Sonarr is running with all my other Usenet tools (SABnzbd downloader, and Couch Potato for movies).
I would like to have a TV Show hit my existing downloads properly so for The Orville for example, it is located on M:\TV Shows\The Orville
While some of my series have seasons some do not, and i am not objecting to making season folders for everything going forward, but i want to make sure that when i download that series it automatically renames the files to the following format:
The.Orville.S01E11.720p.%ext%
and have it create it in M:\TV Shows\The Orville\Season 1 directory.
Do i need a special script or can I do this reliably through the interface?
One problem i see here is that i cannot use a mapped drive as a path to save the series. It wants to save everything on my C: drive. If i try to enter the path manually it says the path does not exist.
Obviously i could move it manually but that is a pain, and i do not have a lot of extra space on my VM that i am using to run all the downloads.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Great stuff so far. Looking forward to using this a ton!
You can do this with Sonarr’s renaming, just look at the example when configuring the naming (and enable Advanced Settings for full control of the naming).
Thanks for the info here. I did get the interface to see the M: drive when i changed the service. So i think we are good here. But still having an issue with some of the downloads.
Here is the main issue. I just subscribed to a series that has ended. Wanted to download the whole 4 seasons. I pointed the show to the directory on the M drive i want, but it does not go there. Instead it creates some directory with the name of the episode rather than renaming the file, and putting it in the TV Shows<Title> directory. Has to be something i just am not getting here.
just want the file to be named properly and put in the right place once it is downloaded. Really appreciate any ideas you have.
Looks like your download client it putting it there, you should have a separate folder where you download client puts things and then Sonarr will import them from there. M:\Downloads for example.
Well I thought it worked but my scheduled episodes did the same thing tonight. A directory with the episode name, and the file was probably a job ID…some long guid. i have changed downloader to not rename and also gave a new path to default downloads, M:\Downloads. So if i understand correctly Sonarr will look there and rename and move to the right directory from there?
Activity: Queue in Sonarr will show things that are completed and not yet imported and also why it’s failing to import (if that’s the case) as long as the item is still in the download client.
Using SABNZBD client. I think it is sorted out now. Shows are getting put in the right directories and renamed appropriately now. Must have been some conflicts with the downloader settings, i cleared them all out and restarted all the services and things are going perfectly now. thanks for the follow up.
