Release Rejected because matches an alias for series with TVDB ID

Getting this error, and it appears that the only way to fix it is to post it here?

All Creatures Great and Small matches an alias for series with TVDB ID: 378982

This should be fixed when the scene mappings are updated.

The issue I’m running into is that there are two series for ‘All Creatures Great and Small’. First series was 1978 and the second one was 2020.

Unfortunately, no one seems to be marking the files as such, and I now have a mix of both 1978 and 2020.

Is that the purpose of an alias ? To help resolve Series when a new one comes along ?

Generally the new series should have a year, but that doesn’t always happen.

Aliases don’t exist to fix this problem, but they can help by matching releases from certain groups to the different series.
