If I have series that are unmonitored and have ended, there is really no reason to include them when I do an “Update All”. So, I guess, what I’m looking for is an option to update only those series that are monitored.

You can use a filter and then refresh only the filtered list of series.
I guess I understand what the OP wants.
It may need that, no matter what the filter or the visible shows are, it never tries to download unmonitored shows and/or episodes.
am I right?
