Quick Newbie Questions

Hi there,

New to Sonarr, forgive the simple questions.

Really happy so far, great bit of kit. I have Sonarr setup on an old Windows 10 laptop. Monitoring a few current shows, Rarbg setup as the indexer and QBittorent as the client. All working nice.

Couple of questions if I may?

1. I’ve read the FAQs and my simple understanding is that Sonarr monitors RSS feeds to identify new releases so as new releases become available for monitored shows, Sonarr does the necessary work by grabbing the newly available torrent. What about though about shows say, 6 months old (Greys Anatomy, Season 16 as an example)? I’ve added that show and am monitoring season 16 but all episodes are a few months old now. In order to download those episodes, is my only option to manually search for these episodes?

2. Is there a difference between selecting ‘Automatic Search’ button next to an episode in the Series screen and the Search Selected/Search All Missing button on the Wanted screen?

If you want them now, yes.

The former will search for that episode only, the latter will search for everything and if multiple episodes are missing for a season do a season search instead.
