Question on handling of manual torrent downloads

Sonarr version 3.0.6.1342):
OS Windows 10:
Description of issue:

I like the handling I have setup with Sonarr, which is a category of ‘tv-sonarr’ and then it changes to ‘tv-sonarrdone’ when it’s finished. Which is great. Works well.

I also run a Connect task that logs away what was added, so a later process can come along and augment the subtitles and metadata clean things etc. Currently not running inline in Sonarr, but just saves it’s info for running later.

but say I manually grab something - I use non-sonarr category for those. And then was hoping to just change it’s category to ‘tv-sonarr’ and it would be processed through the normal Sonarr channels.

but it seems that is handled differently since it’s moving the episode files instead of hardlink/copying them. This of course makes it hard for my post processing stuff to work, since it’s looking for the original content in tv-sonarrdone but the ‘move’ has pulled away the video files.

Any way to adjust that behaviour or that’s by design?

Correct that’s exactly what it does

Then the torrent was marked as complete and done seeding by the download client.

Sonarr never moves torrents unless they are reported as completed and not seeding
