[Q] Recommended setup for multiple indexers

Hello,

I’ve been using nzbMegasearch for a while, but the development on it seems to have halted and i’ve been watching the trello cards.
I’ve 20+ Private indexers bound to nzbMegasearch but would it work better if I added them individually to nzbDrone, then with nzbMegasearch?

Kind Regards,

Mirabis

All you really need is 2-3 indexers enabled. The more you add the lower things will be (have gone to check 20+ indexers for every RSS sync and search would be much slower than 2 or 3 of them.

Personally I think nzb.su and dognzb are all you need. I check the reddit usenet section a fair bit and the people with issues are generally using lesser known indexers. These two never give me any problems.

Okay i’ll just keep nzbMegasearch on the cloud then. So nzbdrone checks the combined rss feed.

Agreed 2-4 good ones are all you need. I use mega as well, or used too. I noticed the searches pull quite a bit less than if I duplicate the same search directly in the indexer. I was getting at a huge discrepancy and good results are either missed or ignored and I’m not sure why. I’d list your best ones out in drone or at least test it.

This is pretty much the reason why MegaSearch doesn’t work very well with drone (for season searches): https://github.com/pillone/usntssearch/issues/110

Yeh ended up adding then directly to nzbdrone, it picked up so much more
