I would like Sonarr to prefer x265 over x264 on initial download, but not to upgrade to x265 if x264 has already been downloaded. Is this possible?
no. unlike the upgrades allowed option in the quality profile, preferred words has no “abort” or cutoff (yet), sonarr will continue to download if it sees a higher preferred word score
i think manually un-monitoring the episode is all you can do at the moment… or you could disable all the RSS feeds and manually search each episode (sort of defeats the purpose though)
Thanks. I think I just won’t bother preferring x265 at all, then. The only reason I use it is because the download finishes sooner, and most things are initially only available as x264 so it’s rare that I’d get any benefit from it anyway.
