Any chance you could create a Plex Metadata for Sonarr? The format for files needed would be (an example with Arrow):
images supported: jpg, jpeg, png, tbn
TV Series | folder
–> Arrow | folder
–> Season 01 | folder
–> --> Arrow - 1x01 - Pilot.mp4
–> --> Arrow - 1x01 - Pilot.jpg | episode artwork
–> --> seasonXX.jpg | season artwork
–> poster.jpg | poster artwork could be folder.jpg or show.jpg as well
–> fanart.jpg | background artwork could be art.jpg, backdrop.jpg, background.jpg as well
–> banner.jpg | banner artwork
AFAIK it uses Kodi’s (XBMC) format, though its possible it uses the legacy format (since that looks similar).
In which case: https://trello.com/c/ucAtL0ZW/921-legacy-xbmc-metadata
This is what I have been following via Plex, not sure if it matches up with older XBMC or not.
Thanks!
XMBC adds duplicate files
Folder AND poster, there isn’t a toggle for just one.
Clearart isn’t used by plex except for certain themes in plex home theater that I think are now broken.
Not uber important but I would appreciate plex metadata as well.
I use XBMC metadata, and Plex handles it fine.
While it would be nice to get specific Plex handleing, and I’d like to see it on Trello, I think it’s a very low priority.
tymanthius, Plex only handles the XBMC poster name and fanart name, nothing else. The main reason I mentioned it was to get the season artwork named properly and placed in the proper location, as XBMC doesn’t handle that for Plex.

Ah, ok. Plex must grab it itself then as I’ve never noticed a lack.
Just being able to change the filename for each type of art would fix this issue for everybody. CouchPotato supports that and it’s really easy. Under the metadata checkbox for “fanart” I can just change the filename from fanart.jpg to background.jpg. Easy fix that would ensure compatibility with every media center ever.
