Please add AlphaReign to Indexers!

This fairly new torrent search engine is huge and great. No BS, sleek, and over 8,000,000 torrents already. They also have an API key.

I have found that AlphaReign is one of the supported trackers for Sonarr plugin “Jackett”

Their API appears to be Torznab based (though beta), if that’s the case you can add it as a Torznab indexer in Sonarr without using Jackett, but since it’s beta it may not be fully functional.

I have AlphaReign working great using the Torznab Indexer.

My question is should I have 5030,5040 in the Categories box or should it be blank?

Is 5030,5040 the norm for all Torznab enabled sites?

Thanks

They don’t specify: https://alphareign.se/api?t=caps
Those category id’s are supposed to be numbers, not strings. And Sonarr won’t like it.

That said, Alphareign doesn’t truly support torznab, they only added support for ‘q’ which is the most basic free-text search api capability. True indexers support additional query params such as ‘season’ and ‘ep’. And optionally ‘tvdbid’ or ‘tvmazeid’.
It’s more efficient that way, coz indexers can use database columns for ‘season’ & ‘ep’, or do a search for %S01%E01% or 1x01 and it’s variants without requiring multiple api calls.

Sonarr depends on ‘season’ & ‘ep’ being supported, if it isn’t Sonarr simply won’t search using that indexer.
The only search that depends solely on ‘q’ is Anime, coz Newznab doesn’t have absolute episode number support.
