Hi and thanks all for your great job!
There’s a spanish indexer site, one of the biggest here, that has specific naming rules which are not understable by Sonarr.
Example folder: Batwoman - Temporada 1 [HDTV 720p][Cap.102][AC3 5.1 Castellano][www.descargas2020.org][www.pctnew.org]
Example file: Batwoman - Temporada 1 [HDTV 720p][Cap.102][AC3 5.1 Castellano][www.descargas2020.org][www.pctnew.org].mkv
Sonarr gets to download it, but can’t rename episode, saying it doesn’t match to a tv show
Yes, all names are like these in that indexer, nothing we can do about it.
Many of us with aren’t so lucky must fight with this kind of problems with no English and no standard indexers.
That’s why custom regex are needed (along with alias titles, but that’s another story)
Some other download programs use indexer-specific parser, or global custom regex.
That way, application is more flexible and developers don’t have to deal with all details.
Manually renaming or processing all of my downloads is not an option, and that’s why I’m using Sonarr for
Of course I understand there are many indexers and many particularities, and devel team just can’t fight them all, not now neither in the future.
That’s what we need Sonarr to be expandable without affecting to the main development, you know, like plugins or extension.
That way we can move from “it’s not planned” to “you can add an exception for that yourself”
