Someone at TVDB in their infinite wisdom has deleted Series 10 of Grantchester, which appears to be currently showing on PBS or will soon. The deletion at TVDB happened after I added episode 5 and before I could add episode 6, and Sonarr thinks I’m crazy for trying to add an episode that doesn’t exist in TVDB. It won’t add it, or show the episodes it already added.

Normally this might be a good idea, to weed out spam and such. On the other hand, when I know it is not spam, I’d like a way to tell Sonarr it is okay to add the episode even if TVDB is having one of its snits or internal arguments over who gets to update the data.

Plex noticed the new episode when I added it manually, and shows it, but of course can’t get metadata from TVDB, so it just shows with the episode number. I wouldn’t mind that for Sonarr, considering the alternative (now) is for it to pretend the episodes don’t exist.

I originally asked them to add Season 10 which they did.

I sent them the following ticket a couple of days ago but have not heard back yet:

  • You say that Season 10 has been locked to prevent addition of PBS air dates.

  • Season 10 has actually been deleted rather than locked and I would be grateful if you would reinstate it.

I have asked the same question, why was season 10 deleted and now has been renewed for final season 11.

Over a week has passed and nothing from thetvdb.

I’m lucky I had all 8 episodes of Season 10 before they removed it.

Season 10 is now back.
